31 Nights of Whampire
A Vampire Film Festival
joystikNikThe month of October 2021 saw the PH16 Discord server host a film festival like no other - 31 Nights of Whampire. Every night, a different vampire movie was screened, and attendees were treated to a mix of classic and modern films. I was lucky to be the one who coordinated and hosted the festival, attracting a sizeable audience from all over the internet, eager to immerse themselves in the world of vampires.
The festival began with a screening of the modern classic vampire film What We Do In The Shadows, followed by the cult trilogy of Blade. From there, the festival delved into a mix of classic and modern movies, with some strange new entries that kept the audience on the edge of their seats.
One of the highlights of the festival was the PH16K roast of Twilight, hosted by myself, elliface, and RestlessChest. We pulled no punches as we roasted the questionable plot points, terrible acting, and problematic portrayal of relationships. The audience joined in the fun in chat, with many sharing their own hilarious criticisms of the work.
The festival also featured a mix of international films, including the Korean horror Thirst, the Indie film The Transfiguration, and the Swedish vampire drama Let the Right One In. These movies showcased the global appeal of vampire stories and the different ways they are interpreted across cultures.
PH16K Roast of Twilight Intro
The festival concluded with a screening of the classic silent film Nosferatu, set to an alternative industrial soundtrack. This unique interpretation of the early motion picture brought a new dimension to the classic horror movie, and the audience was left in awe of the creativity and artistry of the music pairing.
Overall, 31 Nights of Whampire was a huge success, and the PH16 Discord server has been left waiting eagerly for the next event.
